Getting started
Install, add your first account, open a provider.
What is AIObox?
AIObox is an app for Mac and Windows that keeps every AI account you use in one place. Each account lives in its own browser profile, so you can see how much room each one has left and open exactly the one you want, already signed in.
How do I install it?
Get the installer from the download page. On a Mac, open the .dmg and drag AIObox to Applications; the first time, macOS blocks it until you click Open Anyway in System Settings › Privacy & Security. On Windows, run the setup.exe; it installs for your user only, and if SmartScreen warns, click More info, then Run anyway. Newer installers replace the app in place and keep your profiles and settings.
How do I add my first account?
- Import a Chrome, Brave or Edge profile you are already signed in to. AIObox copies only what a session needs: preferences, cookies, local storage, IndexedDB, web data and extensions. History, bookmarks and saved passwords stay behind.
- Start fresh with a new, empty profile and sign in to each provider inside it.
Profiles live in ~/.aki/cdp/profiles/; the list of them is in ~/.aki/aiobox/cdp/registry.json. Your original browser profile changes only when you press Sync on the profile page and choose to write it: only sign-in cookies move, a backup is taken first and Undo restores it.
What does the Dashboard show?
One row per profile, one cell per provider. Click a cell to open that provider in that profile's own window. Cells with usage show bars after the first check; Gemini and the other built-in sites are cards or shortcuts without usage.
What should I set up next?
Keep Chrome and each provider in English (US) so macros can find their buttons. Open Start, first in the sidebar, to see whether a Chromium browser, Node.js, AkiMCP and cloudflared are installed and to install what is missing. AIObox opens there by itself when something needed is missing.
